Caviar Tourbillon: A Divine Expression of Beauty and Craftsmanship

Imagine opening a large tin of caviar. The glistening grains are packed so tightly together that they lose their round shape, forming a perfectly smooth, saturated surface of black gems. This universal symbol of luxury is the inspiration behind Jacob & Co.'s Caviar Tourbillon, a masterpiece that combines the high jewelry expertise of Jacob & Co. with the pinnacle of high watchmaking.

The Caviar Tourbillon is entirely adorned with gems. Jacob & Co. exclusively selected the baguette cut to achieve the smooth surface reminiscent of caviar. Employing the invisible setting technique, they have created a continuous array of gems with no visible prongs or metal to interrupt the flow.

The 47-mm case of the Caviar Tourbillon is encrusted with 224 baguette-cut gems, with the crown housing 16 more and a large rose-cut gem. The large dial features concentric rows of 130 baguette-cut gems, offering a dazzling array of white diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and sapphires in various hues—blue, icy blue, yellow, pink, and orange. The Caviar Tourbillon, with its 424 gems, bursts with light, a testament to meticulous craftsmanship from the initial concept to the final creation.

At its heart, the Caviar Tourbillon houses the exclusive Caliber JCAA43 movement. This self-winding mechanism, composed of 216 components, is regulated by a one-minute flying tourbillon, visible through an opening on the dial. The constant rotation of the tourbillon is the mechanical soul of the Caviar Tourbillon, ensuring precision and enhancing its visual allure.

The movement itself is a marvel, visible through the sapphire caseback and adorned with 338 brilliant-cut diamonds. The bridges and openworked rotor are entirely covered in diamonds, adding to the watch's opulence.

Key features of the Caviar Tourbillon include:

- White gold case set with 224 baguette-cut white diamonds (23.65 ct.).

- Dial invisibly set with 130 baguette-cut white diamonds (9.66 ct.).

- Self-winding movement set with 338 brilliant-cut diamonds (1.32 ct.).

- One-minute flying tourbillon.

- 216 components.

- 42-hour power reserve.

The tourbillon, a hallmark of fine watchmaking, counteracts the effects of gravity on the movement's accuracy by putting its escapement into a constant spin. The flying tourbillon, with no upper bridge, adds to the visual spectacle and technical complexity.

Setting gems on the bridges and rotor of a movement is an intricate process that requires exceptional skill to avoid bending the delicate components. Jacob & Co.'s expertise ensures that each piece remains perfectly shaped, even when adorned with diamonds.

The Caviar Tourbillon, with its gleaming surface of hundreds of gems, is a divine expression of beauty and craftsmanship. It stands as a testament to Jacob & Co.'s mastery of high jewelry and watchmaking, offering a timepiece like no other.
